Joyce L. Viola, 71, of Jacksonville, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on October 30, 2023.
She was the daughter of Francis D. and Audrey Hayes and grew up in Jacksonville. She graduated from Wolfson High School in 1970 and became a dental assistant. After getting married, she moved to Nutley, New Jersey, where she lived for 40 years and worked as an office manager before retiring and returning to Jacksonville with her husband and mother. She enjoyed gardening, traveling, crocheting, spending time with family, and cooking, especially baking cookies.
She is survived by her husband, Brian A. Viola, her son, Brian J. Viola (Kelly), her brother, Bill Hayes (Jo Ann) of Oklahoma, her sister, Barbara Jackson (Jim) of South Carolina, her grandchildren, James and Michael Viola, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for Joyce will be held Monday, November 6, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM in Hardage - Giddens Greenlawn Funeral Home, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A funeral service will occur Monday, November 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. A committal service will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Community Hospice and Palliative Care of Northeast Florida.
