Mr. Aldo Donald Thompson was born on September 17, 1952. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. Donald was born to the late Alfred Thompson, Sr. and Sylester Patterson Thompson. He completed his education at Douglas Anderson High School and Stanton Vocational High School. He completed Mechanical Engineering when he served in the United States Navy. After enlisting in the United States Navy, he worked for Jacksonville Shipyard for many years and retired from Georgia Pacific in 2018. Donald had a great love for kids, fishing, camping and cooking with friends and family.  He was mechanically inclined and could repair anything.  Donald will forever be a part of our memories and will be dearly missed. Donald leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Caudie Thompson; a loving daughter, Dr. Shannon Danielle Thompson of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Alvin C. Thompson, Sr.; three sisters, Alfredia T. Lyons, Sandra T. Brown (Vernon) and Olga T. Brannon (Ozzie); three sisters-in-law, Gail C. Wilson, Mattie Boyd and Emma Glenn (Ernest); two brothers-in-law, James Anderson (Beulah) of Rex, Georgia and Fletcher Anderson, Jr. (Virginia) of Brunswick, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, among them, Alvin C. Thompson, Jr. (Carl), Lisa T. Story, Terrence T. Thompson, Vashaun Brown, Dr. Shenaye Lyons, Jordan Brannon, Stephanie, Towardo, Octavia, Angel, LaShantice, Andonis, Jernel, Sherrie, Kiecia, Justin, Nicholas and Dwight; devoted cousins, Ronald McGrier, Sr. (Olivia), Barbara Johnson, Andrew Johnson, Alveria Baker, Raoul Jenkins, Sr., Byron Jenkins (Darlene) and Lauan Jenkins, Sr.; devoted friends, Robert Hagan, Alfonso Neal, Bobby Jones, Billy Demps, Margaret (Ann) Anderson, James Anderson, Fletcher Anderson, Chris Johnson; a nephew that was not only family but a true best friend, Terrence T. Thompson; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends whom he greatly loved. Sarah L. Carter's Funeral Home Southside is serving the family.
