Cassandra Yvonne Shoemaker (Pugh) VIEW PROFILE

July 31, 1952 - October 20, 2016

Cassandra's (64) flight from earth to heaven departed on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 1:30pm. She was the daughter of the late Lucy Johnson and Homer Shoemaker. She was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida where she completed her education as a graduate of Samuel Wolfson Class of 1970. Cassandra went on to further her education at Jones Business College.

Cassandra accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age at Southside COGIC. She later joined Victory in Christ Bible Church under the leadership of Elder Willie Faust, Jr. She faithfully served in her church up until her health began to fail and she could no longer be there. She served on the Pastor Aid Board, Sterling Sunday School and also the Women Choir. She loved music and would always have a song she wanted you to listen too or sang.

Cassandra was a woman that loved the Lord and loved to see others smile. So, she would bake her wonderful cakes or banana pudding and wait for a response of how good it was. She retired from West Minister Woods in 2013 after thirty three years of service. Cassandra had a loving spirit and never met a stranger. She will truly be missed by many. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; and also her sister, Alnetia Patterson.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:00am, Sat., Oct. 29 at the Victory in Christ Bible Church, 2525 W. Edgewood Ave, Elder Willie F. Faust, Jr., Pastor.
