Was sad to hear Bethene passed, she had always lived a sort of sad life with many people kidding her of her appearance, called her Pocohantas.
Saw her at the 20th and she was married which I thought very cool and was so glad for the two of them. Any one know her husband, name or whereabouts?

How very sad! And, I too remember seeing her at the 20th and thinking how neat we all find someone to love...

Missed Bethene at the 20th, but glad she found some happiness in her life.  As I meditate on Christ's Crowning of Thorns, and the ridicule He received about "calling Himself a King," I think of Bethene...  Don't think that I ever said anything cruel, certainly not to her, but I also never stopped anybody.  Kids can be so mean to one another, especially those who are different.  I'm sure she is a Beautiful Soul!  God Rest her.

I too am very saddened upon hearing about Bethene's death. I was one of many that made fun of her looks and demeaner and am now very ashamed of how I acted. It was very cruel and I wish I had been given the chance to apologize to her personally  for my pathetic actions.  Sometimes in an attempt to be funny we do it at the expense of someone's elses feelings. May G-d bless you Bethene, I hope to meet you one day in heaven to apologize for my actions. Ben Kramer

I do not get to know her very well.

But never forgot that beautiful, healthy hair.

Like her nickname "Pocahontas" , Bethene seemed to have  a heart of  sincere warmth and gladness.   She loved life!

I always felt sad for Bethene.  One day during our senior year I went and sat across from her at the lunch table.  I tried to make some small talk. She did not respond to me.  I realized she was fine sitting there by herself.  When I saw her at the 20th with her husband, I was happy she found a true love.  I am sorry she passed away.
