Nancy Gale Hartley (Garrett)

August 31, 1952 - February 13, 2010

Nancy Hartley Garrett, 57, passed away on February 13, 2010 after a brave three year struggle with ovarian cancer. Nancy, a native of Jacksonville and graduate of Wolfson High School, attended Florida State University. While raising her family, she alternately worked in insurance and as a preschool teacher. She lived her life as a caring and thoughtful giver to others, which is a legacy she left to those who love her. Nancy was preceded in death by an uncle Jack Hansford (Rose) and is survived by her loving daughters, Jennifer Garrett Bardhi and Amy Garrett and her precious grandchildren, Hannah and Christian; her devoted partner, Viktor Gjergji; her mother, Aletha Ann Hartley and siblings, Michele Careme (Yannick), Michael Hartley (Susan), Thomas Hartley, and Lee Hartley; her aunts, Sandy Hansford and Diane Pearce (Graham); and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of her life will be held 11 am, Saturday, February 20, 2010 at Eternity Funeral Home, 4856 Oakdale Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northeast Florida Community Hospice Foundation or to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund in her memory. Arrangements are under the direction and care of Eternity Funeral Home, Jacksonville, FL 32207.

Gwendolyn Elouise [Gwen] Butler

There is a long Hartley Road in Mandarin. It was named after a veteran of  the civil war. Was Nancy a descendant of this Hartley?
