Lance and I both worked at the US Army Corps of Engineers - he also lived close to me  when I lived in Mandarin.  Always smiling and always willing to help anyone.  I will miss my friend.

So sorry to hear this.  I remember Lance as quiet, but never shy about laughing and having a good time.  He always welcomed me in his circle of friends.  It was a pleasure knowing him.  My deepest condolences to his family and friends.  Rest in peace, Lance.
